Aquino was in Zambales on Monday, April 21, to receive the endorsement of Zambales Governor Hermogenes Ebdane. There, he vowed to focus on the infrastructure needed to further develop the province.
“Make sure na magkabit-kabit talaga ‘yung kailangan natin dito ng mga daan, tulay, at lahat ng kailangan para sa progress (We need to make sure that our roads, bridges, and all others are connected for progress). Region 3 is a very progressive region. Ang laking gains po talaga (There are very big gains), but obviously we know we can take it to the next level pa,” Aquino said.
Hailing from nearby Tarlac province, the former senator is inspired by former senators Jun Magsaysay and Richard Gordon, both from Zambales.
“We had Jun Magsaysay before, the Gordons before, ngayon po wala na pong magre-represent ng Zambales. Kami naman, literally kapitbahay lang po sa Tarlac kaya (no one’s representing Zambales now. As for us, we’re just literally neighbors in Tarlac so), we can really focus on the different areas po rito (here). So rest assured po, nandito po kami para tumulong (we are here to help),” he added.
In endorsing Aquino, Ebdane said the former senator is well-deserving.
“You deserve it,” the Zambales governor told Aquino.
The former senator is running under the platform of free education and guaranteed jobs.
As the father of the Free College Law, Aquino promised to expand the legislation further and even provide allowances or stipends for students.
