CAMP OLIVAS, San Fernando City, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office-3 reported on Wednesday, April 2, that more 2,000 individuals were apprehended and illegal drugs valued at P77.5 million were seized in the anti-drug campaign in Central Luzon from Jan. 10 to March 31.

PRO-3 chief Police Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said they carried out 1,494 operations and caught 2,310 persons, including 99 high-value individuals, in the 81-day crackdown.
Recovered from them were 11.11 kilograms of shabu, 14.85 kilograms of marijuana, and 151.59 grams of kush.
Fajardo lauded operating units for their achievements.
"These efforts dealt a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the region," Fajardo said. "Our relentless efforts have made a significant impact, and we remain steadfast in our mission to create a safer, drug-free Central Luzon," Fajardo added.
She encouraged residents to report any drug-related activities to the police.
Meanwhile, Fajardo said crime incidents in Central Luzon dropped 19.37 percent or 254 cases in March.
She said that 1,057 crime incidents were recorded from March 2 to 29 compared to the 1,311 reported between Feb. 2 and March 1.
Fajardo attributed this to sustained security efforts in curbing criminal activities.
Index crimes, which include murder, homicide, physical injury, and robbery, went down by 38.01 percent from 271 incidents to 168.
Non-index crimes, which include violations of special laws and other offenses, dropped by 14.52 percent from 1,040 to 889 cases.
The PRO-3 vowed to sustain its intensified operations to maintain peace and order especially as the May 12 midterm elections approaches.
