Almost 4,500 tablets of the party drug Ecstasy worth P7.6 million were seized by authorities in an interdiction operation at Port of Clark on Wednesday.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority-Clark Interdiction Unit said that the shipment containing the illegal drug emanated from Belgium and arrived at the Port of Clark on March 29.
"PDEA-International Cooperation and Foreign Affairs Service received information that a certain parcel from Belgium will arrive at Port of Clark. The said information was relayed by PDEA-Intelligence Service to PDEA-Regional Office 3 which led to the successful interdiction operation," the PDEA said.
The package containing the contraband was opened by the Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark in the presence of PDEA-Clark personnel and other witnesses. A field test was conducted and the tablets turned out positive for Ecstasy.
They will be forwarded to the PDEA-Regional Office 3 laboratory for forensic examination.
