TACLOBAN CITY – The Department of Public Works and Highways has completed the construction of a new steel bridge in Barangay Central Poblacion, Gamay, Northern Samar.
The 91.7-lineal meter bridge built for P12.83 million was part of the Build Better More initiative under the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. It was designed for pedestrians and single motorcycles.

DPWH-Region 8 Director Edgar Tabacon said the sturdier bridge allows safer passage across Gamay River.
Tabacon said the bridge replaced the slippery timber footbridge that posed significant risks, particularly during adverse weather conditions.
The project was implemented by the DPWH-Northern Samar Second District Engineering Office. Gamay is a coastal municipality with 26 barangays.
