TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – A man and a child drowned in Cagayan on Good Friday.
Police said a 57-year-old farmer suddenly jumped into a river in Tuao and drowned.
Investigation said the victim was allegedly drunk and experiencing anxiety at that time.
The victim was taken to the Nuestra Señora de Piat Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The second victim was an eight-year-old boy who drowned at the Pinacanauan River in Barangay Dodan, Peñablanca.
Police said the victim went missing while has following his father on their way home from the church.
Rescuers recovered his body on the river at about 8:45 p.m. He was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
