Grade 5 pupil dies from jelly fish sting

TAGKAWAYAN, Quezon - A Grade 5 student drowned after he was stung by a jellyfish on Maundy Thursday in the sea of Barangay Candalapdap here.

Police identified the victim as Angelo, a resident of the barangay.

Investigation disclosed that the victim, together with his friends, were riding a raft when he suddenly dived into the water and stung by a jellyfish in the left arm.

Angelo got dizzy and drowned.

He was taken to the a hospital where he was declared dead.

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old office employee died in a road accident on the Diversion Road in Barangay Batong Dalig, Gumaca, Quezon on Maundy Thursdsay.

Police said the victim Russel lost control of his motorcycle on the descending curve portion and smashed into a Toyota Hi-Ace van with license plates NGA-5287 driven by Gerry, 52.

The victim sustained serious physical injuries and was taken to the Gumaca District Hospital where he was declared dead.
