President Marcos has encouraged Filipinos to choose peace and safety this Holy Week, and expressed hope that Good Friday serves as a guidance and strength for every Filipino family.

This Holy Week, let us choose peace. Let us choose safety for ourselves and especially for our families)," Marcos said in a video message.
He also reminded the public to also prioritize their safety during their travel, and be humble.
Magbigayan tayo. Maging mapagpakumbaba (The new Filipino stands firm for his nation. The new Filipino sides with peace and safety, especially on the streets. Let's give wat to one another. Be humble)," he said.Â
"[M]ag-ingat po tayo sa daan (Let's stay safe on the road)," he added.Â
In his Facebook post on Friday, April 18, Marcos said Good Friday is a time to remember the essence of faith, compassion, and forgiveness.
We commemorate the sacrifice that gave meaning to faith, compassion, and forgiveness during Good Friday. May this day serve as a strength and guidance for every Filipino family)," Marcos said.Â
In his Holy Week message on April 13, the President said he will be joining the nation in taking a "brief pause" to observe the Holy Week.Â
"I join the entire Filipino nation as we take a brief pause from our daily routines to observe the Holy Week," he then said.
"May this sacred time bring us a meaningful and blessed celebration," he added.
