VP Sara cites Marcoleta's defense of her in new political ad

Vice President Sara Duterte reminded her supporters of how Sagip Partylist Rep. Rodante Marcoleta came to her defense during the congressional inquiries against the Office of the Vice President (OVP) in a new political ad to endorse his Senate candidacy.

In a new campaign ad posted on Marcoleta’s Facebook page on Wednesday, April 16, the Vice President recalled how the lawmaker was the lonesome figure who stood by her side.

“Iisa lang ang Rodante Marcoleta sa Senado, hindi natitinag, hindi natatakot at laging nasa panig ng tama (There is only one Rodante Marcoleta in the Senate, unshakeable, unafraid, and always on the side of what’s right),” she said.

“Noong pinupuna at tinatakot ang tanggapan ng Pangalawang Pangulo siya ang tumindig at dumepensa, hindi alintana ang pambabatikos dahil para kay Marcoleta, ang tama ay ipinaglalaban kahit mag-isa ka lamang (When the Office of the Vice President was being criticized and intimidated, he stood up and defended, unmindful of the criticisms because for Marcoleta, you should fight for what’s right even if you are alone),” she added.

The campaign ad showed Duterte talking while short videos of Marcoleta were flashed on the background.

The video clips include the lawmaker defending her during the congressional inquiries against the OVP’s use of its multi-million confidential funds.

Duterte said Marcoleta has integrity and principles, and that Filipinos should rightfully vote him to the Senate.
