The Manila Police District (MPD) heightened its security measures to ensure public safety and order during this solemn period of reflection and travel.

Led by the newly appointed MPD Director Brig. Gen. Benigno L. Guzman, a series of inspections were conducted at key bus terminals in Sampaloc to assess the preparations and deployment of personnel tasked.

The inspection team visited the following major transport hubs:

  • A and B Liner along Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard
  • Fariñas Bus Line along Lacson Avenue
  • Partas Bus Terminal along Laong Laan Street
  • Viron Transit along Blumentritt Street

Police said the inspection also focused on the welfare of the officers on duty, ensuring they are well-prepared to manage the anticipated surge in travelers and respond effectively to any security incidents.

Passengers were assured of their safety, with the MPD boosting police visibility in and around terminal areas to deter criminal activity and provide immediate assistance when needed.

“Our priority is to protect the safety and well-being of every traveler. Team PS4 is ready to fulfill its mandate to maintain peace and order and extend assistance to the commuting public,” Col. Brillante F. Billaoac, Station Commander of Sampaloc Police Station, said.

The MPD continues to call on the public for cooperation and vigilance, reminding everyone to remain aware of their surroundings, report suspicious activities, and follow security protocols for a peaceful and safe Holy Week observance.
