A Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, commissioned by Stratbase ADR Institute, revealed that most Filipinos feel their quality of life has remained unchanged over the past year.
The survey, conducted from March 15 to 20, showed that 38 percent of Filipinos say their quality of life stayed the same compared to 12 months ago.
Meanwhile, 31 percent reported a better quality of life, while 30 percent said it had worsened.
The latest figures translate to a net gainers score of +1, classified by SWS as “high.” This score represents the difference between those who said their quality of life improved (gainers) and those who said it got worse (losers).
SWS pointed out that the net gainers score in March is a five-point decrease from the +6 in the February survey.
“The March 2025 net gainers score of +1 was the lowest since the fair -2 in September 2023,” it added.
Net score falls in all areas except in Metro Manila
Balance Luzon recorded the highest net gainers score at +8 (classified as high), while Metro Manila had a score of -2 (fair), Mindanao registered -5 (fair), and the Visayas had the lowest score at -8 (fair).
SWS said these results show a notable decline in most areas compared to February.
Balance Luzon saw a five-point drop from +13, the Visayas dropped by nine points from +1, and Mindanao saw a seven-point decline from +2.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila showed a slight improvement, rising by six points from -8 to -2.
The survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,800 registered voters aged 18 and above.
It has a national margin of error of ±2.31 percent, with regional margins of ±3.27 percent for Balance Luzon, and ±5.66 percent for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
