A 35-year-old man was arrested for allegedly raping his young stepdaughter multiple times from 2023 to 2024 in Mandaluyong City on Tuesday, April 15.
The Eastern Police District (EPD) identified the suspect as “Tito Edison,” listed as the district’s No. 2 most wanted person.
The suspect was arrested by the operatives of Mandaluyong Police Station in Barangay Barangka Ilaya by virtue of a warrant issued on April 10 by the presiding judge of the Regional Trial Court, Family Court Branch 5, for 11 counts of qualified rape of a minor.
Based on the investigation, the suspect began molesting the victim in September 2023. The sexual abuse was repeated for several times until March 2024, prompting the victim’s family to file a complaint against him.
Authorities said that the suspect is now detained at the custodial facility of the Mandaluyong City Police Station while awaiting a commitment order from the court.
