'Karma’ overtakes 'When Life Gives You Tangerines’; 'Kian’s Bizarre B&B’ debuts in top 10 on Netflix chart

The new Korean drama “Karma” edged out “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” starring IU and Park Bo-gum, in the weekly rankings on Netflix.

Netflix released its weekly Global Top 10 lists for April 7 to 13 of the most watched films and shows on the streaming platform.

Under the non-English shows list, “Karma” placed No. 2 with 4.8 million views, rising from its debut position at No. 5 last week with 3.6 million views.

“Karma” stars Park Hae-soo, Shin Min-a, Lee Hee-joon, Kim Sung-kyun, Lee Kwang-soo, and Gong Seung-yeon.

It is No. 1 in eight countries and territories: Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. “Karma” also placed in the top 10 in 27 countries and territories.

“When Life Gives You Tangerines” slid from first to third place this week with 3.7 million views. It is No. 1 in Peru and Taiwan, and placed in the top 10 in 35 countries and territories.

Meanwhile, the Korean variety show “Kian’s Bizarre B&B,” starring webtoon artist Kian84, BTS member Jin and actress Ji Ye-eun, debuted at No. 6 with 2 million views.

It placed in the top 10 in six countries and territories: Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore.

Three more Korean shows placed in the global top 10 on Netflix this week.

Ahead of the premiere of season 2, “Weak Hero: Class 1” grabbed the No. 7 spot with 1.8 million views, placing in the top 10 in 25 countries and territories on Netflix.

The Korean drama “Friendly Rivalry,” starring “Reply 1988” actress Hyeri and Chung Su-Bin, debuted at No. 9 with 1.1 million views.

“Resident Playbook,” another Korean drama, debuted at No. 10 with 1.1 million views.

“The Gardener” is No. 1 on the non-English shows list with 7.7 million views.
