An 18-year-old man who was flagged down for a traffic violation yielded P170,000 worth of shabu hidden inside a cigarette pack during the conduct of “Oplan Sita” by members of the Pasay City Police on Monday, April 14.
Col. Joselito De Sesto, Pasay City Police chief, identified the suspect as alias “Mark.” He was arrested at around 9:15 p.m. along F.B. Harrison St. corner P. Manahan St., Barangay 26, Pasay City.
De Sesto said members of the Pasay City Police were conducting “Oplan Sita” when Mark, who was on board a motorcycle, was flagged down for not wearing a helmet.
He said that while police officers were issuing a citation ticket, alias Mark was acting suspiciously and was about to throw away a cigarette pack.
Upon checking by the police, the cigarette pack contained 25 grams of shabu worth P170,000.
The suspect was detained at the Pasay City Police custodial facility and was charged for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.
