In an interview with reporters in Zamboanga City on Saturday, May 3, the Vice President said that the charges were efforts to cover up the failures of the present administration.
As I said, every time they have an issue, big issue that they did, they cover up those issues by attacking their political enemies),” she said.
The lawmaker, the Vice President’s elder brother, is a reelectionist in Davao City, and was charged with physical injuries and grave threats after allegedly beating and threatening a businessman back in February.
I said that this administration does nothing but politicking and destroying their political enemies),” she said.
So you can see that when the administration does something, what they do next is destroy their political enemies to cover up the true issue of the country),” she added.
In the sworn statement dated May 2 by Davao City businessman Kristone John Patria, he accused the eldest of former president Rodrigo Duterte’s children of physical injuries and grave threats in violation of Articles 265 and 282, respectively, of the Revised Penal Code (RPC), after he was beaten up.
The lawmaker also allegedly cursed and threatened to kill the businessman.Patria said the incident happened at around 3 a.m. last Feb. 23 at the Hearsay Gastropub Bar in Davao City.
