CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Police Regional Office-Calabarzon headed by Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth T. Lucas has beefed up security across the region for the Holy Week.

Lucas said personnel have been deployed under the enhanced PRO 4-A public safety campaign Oplan: Ronda Calabarzon or Revitalized Patrol Operations and Neighborhood Watch to Deter Crimes and Public Safety Incidents through Aggressive Police Presence which is part of the broader Ligtas SUMVAC 2025 program.
As of April 15, Lucas said 5,365 police personnel and 525 force multipliers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), other government agencies, and Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs), along with 2,145 members of advocacy groups, have been deployed to support the operation that seeks to address the expected increase in public activity and travel during the Holy Week.
"Holy Week is a time of spiritual reflection and family reunions for many Filipinos. Through the Oplan, we aim to provide a safe and peaceful environment for everyone. Our commitment is to ensure that people can observe this sacred time without concern for their safety," Lucas said.
Police Assistance Desks were established in places of worship, major transportation terminals, seaports, tourist areas, and other public gathering locations.
Lucas added that law enforcement personnel will conduct random drug tests, alcoholic breath tests, and driver’s license checks to ensure road safety and prevent accidents.
Safety inspections will be carried out in public buses and amusement rides to guarantee the well-being of passengers and park-goers.
The PRO 4-A has identified 1,088 critical areas for heightened security, 243 places of worship, 246 major roads, 92 transportation hubs, 208 commercial establishments, and 299 other areas of public convergence.
These locations will be given priority patrol coverage and rapid response units to address any incidents immediately.
Lucas emphasized the importance of community cooperation in the Oplan. "We encourage everyone to remain vigilant and actively report any suspicious activities to the authorities. Our success in maintaining safety depends on the collaboration between law enforcement and the public."
He urged the public to report any suspicious persons or activities promptly by contacting their local police stations or reaching out through the PRO 4A hotlines 09155108286 or 09985985583.
