Bureau of Immigration (BI) personnel assigned at the country's airports were not allowed to take leaves of absence this Holy Week due to the expected influx of travellers.

BI Deputy Spokesperson Melvin Mabulac also said during an interview on PTV’s Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon on Tuesday, April 15, that the bureau has fielded 48 additional immigration personnel to the country's airports to help in the processing of passengers.
"Ngayong panahon ay peak season, maraming pasahero (this is the peak season and there will be many passengers),” Mabulac said.
He said the BI is expecting around 50,000 travellers daily this Holy Week season.
At the same time, he said a wing for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 has been opened to address the rise in number of passengers.
