How the Felicidad T. Sy Foundation brings faith closer to communities

Everyone deserves a space to pray, reflect, or simply breathe

As Holy Week approaches, many Filipino families turn to prayer, reflection, and acts of devotion. During this time, access to spaces for worship becomes even more meaningful. The Felicidad T. Sy Foundation, Inc. (FTSFI) helps make that possible.

FTSFI was founded to bring the Catholic faith closer to Filipino families. Inspired by the belief that faith is central to daily life, the foundation supports the spiritual needs of communities by building, restoring, and maintaining churches and chapels across the country.

This mission continues the legacy of SM Group matriarch Felicidad T. Sy, whose deep devotion to the Church shaped the foundation’s vision. She believed that prayer should be part of everyday life—and within reach of everyone.

That belief has taken shape in many ways: chapels inside malls, places of worship near busy roads, and quiet sanctuaries in growing neighborhoods. These spaces offer people a moment to pause, reflect, and reconnect—no matter how hectic life gets.

Whether you're observing Holy Week traditions or simply seeking quiet time for reflection, here are several churches and chapels across the Philippines supported by FTSFI:

  • San Pedro Calungsod Chapel, Cebu City
  • San Pedro Calungsod Chapel, SM Aura, Taguig
  • Cross Tower, Cebu
  • Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Chapel, Hen. Uno, Cavite
  • Mary the Queen Chapel, Jaro, Iloilo
  • Mary the Queen Chapel, Tacloban
  • John Mary Vianney Center for Priests
  • Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Chapel, SM North EDSA
  • Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Chapel, SM Grand Central
  • Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Chapel, SM Store Makati
  • Chapel of the Eucharistic Lord, SM Megamall
  • Holy Family of Nazareth Chapel, NU-NS High School
  • Shrine of Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, beside SMX Convention Center, Pasay City

Each of these places of prayer stands as a reminder that faith can be nurtured in everyday spaces. Whether inside malls or near busy thoroughfares, these chapels give people a place to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their faith.

For the Felicidad T. Sy Foundation, it’s not just about building chapels—it’s about supporting a way of life where faith is present on ordinary days as much as on holy ones. Everyone deserves a space to pray, reflect, or simply breathe.

For many Filipinos, these chapels are that space.
