Whether it’s all about taking up space in a male-dominated industry or becoming a loving wife and nurturing mother to one’s family, we oftentimes associate the joys of being a woman with the roles they choose to portray.
This should not be the case according to the award winning celebrity life coach, Myke Celis, a well-known advocate of self-empowerment and becoming one’s own #bestmeever.
“Here’s the thing: Women (and even men) will always be more than the roles they portray. Each woman’s value does not stem from the relationships she keeps nor the position she holds whether at work or at home. Her true value lies in the choices she is able to make for herself and how she lives her truth outside of the society’s expectations and sometimes ridiculous standards.”
The celebrity life coach further debunks common notions about single women:
“Let’s be clear about this: it’s possible that staying single is a choice. It doesn’t mean that if a woman (or any person, regardless of gender), is not in a relationship at a certain age, that she’s ugly, or incapable of having one. It can mean that at that point in time she is choosing to invest more on herself and her growth, because that is what she deserves. A person’s value is not dependent alone on the relationships or associations she keeps.”

So how does a single woman become empowered based on her choices then?
Coach Myke Celis has these tips:
“Take care of your over all health and wellbeing. Set and maintain boundaries. Try learning the things that you used to be so dependent on others and find joy in the process. It’s important to anchor yourself in your greater purpose: how can being single help you achieve your greatest goals? By doing so, you eliminate the noise and distractions around you as you focus on yourself, your growth and what truly makes you happy, complete and fulfilled. And that’s the true essence of being a woman: knowing and choosing what is best for you.”
