Thirty-five motorist assistance stations will be set up on major, secondary, and tertiary roads in the Ilocos region starting Holy Wednesday to assist Holy Week travelers.
These teams will be deployed from 8 a.m. April 16 to 5 p.m. April 19.

Like in the previous “Lakbay Alalay” (travel assist) program of the DPWH, the assistance stations would have an automotive mechanic who could troubleshoot in case of a vehicle breakdown, emergency responders who would be tasked to coordinate and communicate with the search and rescue team of the Philippine National Police (PNP), and barangay officials who would be ready to provide ambulances in case of accidents.
"Travelers can expect to find DPWH-Lakbay Alalay teams, composed of DPWH uniformed field and crew personnel with maintenance equipment on standby, at navy blue-colored tents on specific areas on the Manila North Road (MNR), primary, secondary, and tertiary roads in the region,” she said.
