Three senators from the United States are currently in Manila to reaffirm Washington’s commitment and support to its alliance with the Philippines, Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Enrique Manalo said.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the DFA chief shared about his meeting with US Senators John Peter Ricketts, Christopher Coons, and Theodore Paul Budd.
“I was pleased to have exchanged views yesterday with US Senators John Peter Ricketts, Christopher A. Coons, and Theodore Paul Budd on defense cooperation, economic security and economic resilience, among others,” Manalo wrote.
“The meeting ended with the U.S. Congressional Delegation reaffirming its commitment and support to the PH-U.S. Alliance. #DFAForgingAhead,” he added.
In a separate post, US Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson welcomed the congressional delegation from her home country.
“Pleased to welcome the bipartisan congressional delegation led by @SenatorRicketts to Manila,” she said, adding that the visit underscores the importance of the US-Philippine relations to Washington.
“Their visit highlights the strength of the (US-PH) relationship and our commitment to security and economic prosperity. #FriendsPartnersAllies #SafeStrongProsperous,” the envoy added.
The US Embassy X page also shared a photo of Ricketts, Coons, and Budd in a meeting with the US Marines’ security detachment during their visit to Manila.
