Villar, who served alongside Gatchalian in the 18th Congress, was lauded for her work on legislation that benefited young Filipinos and small businesses. The mayor expressed confidence that she would carry the same dedication to the Senate.

“She has the experience and heart to lead. I’ve worked with her and witnessed her commitment firsthand. I believe she will be a strong advocate for the youth and entrepreneurs in the Senate,” Gatchalian added.

In her address to PLV students, Villar focused on the transformative power of education and the critical role of youth in shaping the nation’s future. She encouraged students not just to dream, but to act.

“It’s time for all of us—students, Gen Z, Gen X, and Millennials—to move from the sidelines and become part of the solution,” Villar said. “We can’t just talk about change—we have to be that change.”

She also spoke candidly about overcoming adversity, saying that while challenges may seem daunting—especially for the young—resilience and courage can lead to success.

“We may doubt ourselves because of our age or inexperience, but we are capable of so much more than we think,” Villar said. “Let’s not be afraid to take on challenges. Each one of us has the power to make a difference.”

Villar thanked Mayor Gatchalian, PLV President Dr. Nedeña Torralba, Pastor Robert Reyes, and local officials for the warm reception, underscoring her belief that partnerships between local government and future leaders are essential for national progress.

As the national elections draw closer, Villar’s campaign continues to build momentum, with growing support from local officials and youth advocates across the country.
