DAVAO CITY – Davao City first district Rep. Paolo Duterte penned a heartfelt message for his mother, Elizabeth Abellana Zimmerman, on her 77th birth anniversary on Monday, April 14.
Rep. Duterte, in his official Facebook page, assured Elizabeth not to worry too much about him and his siblings – Vice President Sara Duterte and Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte.
The lawmaker said that they are capable of handling life’s challenges on their own.
“Be happy and please do not worry too much about us. We are all grown up now and can face life’s challenges on our own,” Rep. Duterte said in the vernacular.
“What matters most to us, your children, is your happiness and you and papa’s (former President Rodrigo Duterte) good health,” he added.
Rep. Duterte also expressed hope that, by God’s grace, their family could soon reunite to celebrate their parents’ birth anniversaries together.
“God willing, we hope to be together again soon to celebrate your birthdays as a family. I love you, ma!” said Rep. Duterte.
Rep. Duterte’s heartfelt message reflects the close-knit ties of the Duterte family and the deep respect they have for their parents.
Former President Duterte is detained at the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands, for alleged crimes against humanity.
