CAVITE – The city government of Bacoor announced the suspension of in-person classes on April 14 and 15 due to the extreme heat index forecast.
Memorandum Circular No. 007-2025, signed by Mayor Strike B. Revilla, directs all public and private schools in the city to temporarily halt face-to-face learning in response to the rising temperature levels.
The local government unit (LGU) also instructed school administrations to comply with the Department of Education guidelines by shifting to modular distance learning, performance tasks, projects, or make-up classes to ensure that learning competencies are met.
Activities related to end-of-school-year rites, meanwhile, must only be conducted until 9:00 a.m. or after 4:00 p.m. to avoid exposure during peak heat hours.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts a heat index of 44 degrees Celsius in Sangley Point in Cavite City on April 14 and 45 degrees Celsius on April 15.
