Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) host and alumna Melai Cantiveros-Francisco's "manghuhula" campaign gimmick for Trabaho Party-list is quite the attention-grabber and bone-tickler.
Known for her wacky disposition, Cantiveros-Francisco posted Sunday, April 13 a 1:47-long video wherein she played the role of a clairvoyant.
She referred to the viewer as her "customer", who happened to be a disgruntled Filipino worker. Manghuhulang Melai described this patron as being on his or her wit's end, and is desperate for a better tomorrow.
"Ang hanap mo ay kalidad na trabaho, sapat na sahod, at karagdagang benepisyo (You are looking quality employment, ample salary, and more benefits)," said Cantiveros-Francisco, who was decked out in a clairvoyant's garb, complete with a crystal ball and a set of tarot cards.
For her big reveal, she bared three lucky numbers that she claimed will give the worker a bright future. The numbers were 106, which corresponded to Trabaho Party-list's ballot designation.
The campaign video has been viewed overn 17,000 times as of this posting.
Earlier, the pro-labor group reiterated its stance against the various labor rights violations on Filipino workers who "suffer in silence".
Over the weekend, Trabaho Party-list gained key endorsements from officials at the local level, particularly in the cities of Caloocan and Manila.
According to the Commission on Elections (Comelec), Caloocan and Manila have 765, 249 and 1,142,172 registered voters, respectively, making them critical battlegrounds for national campaigns.
The nominees of Trabaho Party-list are lawyer Johanne Bautista, Ninai Chavez, and Nelson de Vega.
