President Marcos has warned foreign vloggers against insulting or provoking Filipinos for views, saying they should not mistake Filipinos' kindness for weakness.

Marcos said this following the arrest of Russian-American vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy for allegedly harassing Filipino citizens early this month.

In his latest vlog, the President lamented the trend of vloggers using shock tactics to gain attention online.

“Nagkakaroon ng mga vlogger na nanggugulo lang, nang-aasar lang, nambibwisit lang, nambabastos lang, para makakuha ng mga viewers (There are vloggers who just provoke, annoy, and disrespect people to gain viewers)," he said.

“Biro man ito o hindi sino ba namang Pilipino ang hindi kukulo ang dugo sa napapanood natin (Whether it’s a joke or not, what Filipino wouldn’t boil with anger at what we’re seeing)?," he asked.

Marcos then warned foreigners not to take advantage of Filipinos' kindness, saying the government would not tolerate such behavior to continue.

"Likas na mababait ang mga Pilipino, magalang, mapagkumbaba, napakahaba ang pasensya (Filipinos are naturally kind, respectful, humble, and very patient)," he said.

“Natural sa atin na matawanan lamang at hindi na palakihin ang ganitong klaseng pambabastos. Pero hindi nangangahulugan na palalampasin ito ng ating pamahalaan (It’s normal for us to just laugh it off and not escalate such insults, but that doesn’t mean the government will ignore it)," he added.

The President hoped foreign vloggers would learn from Zdorovetskiy's arrest.

"Sana ay magsilbing aral ito sa mga pagtatangkang pumasok pa rito sa Pilipinas para hamakin at gawing katatawanan ang ating mga kababayan (Let this serve as a lesson to those who plan to enter the Philippines to insult and mock our fellow countrymen)," he said.

"Asahan ninyo na ang mga gumagawa ng ganyan ay hindi natin pababayaan na patuloy nilang ginagawa 'yan (Rest assured, we will not allow them to continue doing such things)," he added.

Meanwhile, Marcos appealed to the public not to support this kind of behavior and encouraged them to stand up to bullies.

"Dapat tayong pumalag sa mga bully, kasama ninyo ang pamahalaan para ilugar ang ganitong mga tao (We must push back against bullies; the government is with you in putting them in their place)," he said.

Last week, Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro said President Marcos immediately ordered authorities to act after being informed of the foreign vlogger's action.

Zdorovetskiy, known for his prank videos on YouTube, was caught on camera disrespecting Filipinos while filming his content.

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla has also condemned the incident, saying the government is serious about protecting national dignity.

"Tapos na po ang mga dayuhan na akala nila ay kaya nilang lapastangin ang mga Pilipino (The time is up for foreigners who think they can insult Filipinos)," he said.

"Ito ay ehemplo na seryoso tayo sa sariling bayan natin (This is proof that we are serious about our own country)," he added.

Zdorovetskiy has been involved in several controversial stunts, often resulting in arrests or legal trouble. In 2016, he illegally climbed the iconic Hollywood sign in Los Angeles and unfurled a banner promoting his YouTube channel, leading to his arrest for trespassing.

He was also arrested in Miami Beach in 2020 after allegedly tackling a female jogger without provocation.
