INFANTA, Quezon – A 64-year-old landowner and his caretaker were hacked and killed by their farm worker in Barangay Gumian here on Sunday afternoon, April 13.

Police identified the victim as landowner Donald, 64, and caretaker July, 40.
The victims were taken to the Claro M. Recto Hospital where they were declared dead from multiple hack wounds in their faces and heads.
The suspect Jon, 40, was arrested and is now in the custody of Infanta police. He was treated at C.M. Recto District Hospital here for a neck wound after he attempted to kill himself over the incident.
The suspect told police that he was out of his mind and cannot explain why he committed the crime.
Meanwhile, a 39-year-old man was also hacked dead by a farmer on Sunday night, April 13, in Barangay Ibabang Kinagunan, Agdangan, Quezon.
Investigation said that the victim Ariel, who was armed with a balisong (fan knife), crossed paths with the suspect Igme and attempted to stab him.
Ariel missed and Igme got a bolo and hacked the victim on the face, neck, and abdomen.
He was taken to the Unisan Medicare Hospital where he was declared dead. Igme fled and the subject of a police manhunt.
Follow-up investigation on both cases are ongoing.
