With Shai Nitura breaking UAAP records one after another, Adamson head coach JP Yude offered a few reminders for the star Falcon: stay humble and become a beacon of inspiration.

“I know binigay sa kanya ‘yong ganyang talent ng Panginoon… kumbaga sa maraming tao may isang tao na separated… kaya [we’re] very blessed,” said Yude.
“Basta continue lang siya maging humble lang all the time… ano mang ma-break na record nya, maging humble and to continue na mag-lead sa mga kasama niya,” she added.
Playing in her first year as a Lady Falcon, the 20-year-old hitter turned heads after achieving a single-season record for scoring with a total of 314 points that shattered former Ateneo superstar Alyssa Valdez’s 312 way back in Season 77.
The 5-foot-9 outside spiker exploded over the weekend, tallying a jaw-dropping 37 points on 31 kills, five blocks and one ace to go along with 13 excellent digs and 12 receptions to lead Adamson over FEU.
It was Nitura’s fifth 30-point game – the most by any female player or a freshman in UAAP history.
"Hindi ko alam ang nararamdaman ko pero ang pinakamasaya is nananalo po 'yong team," Nitura said after breaking Valdez's record.
The San Marcelino-based team is already eliminated from the Final Four race with a 5-7 record with two games left against De La Salle and University of the Philippines.
Aside from Nitura, Frances Mordi and Fhei Sagaysay also impressed in their respective roles, giving a glimpse of hope for the school as the three might build the foundation of an Adamson title run in the future.
