Converge seemed to be finally getting its fiery form back, sending Blackwater to a second straight blowout loss, 111-80, in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Sunday, April 13.

The FiberXers, after a competitive opening frame, turned their game a notch higher and tore the game apart in the middle quarters to get back on the winning track while improving their record to an even 2-2 slate.
The twin towers of Justin Arana and Justine Baltazar stood tall in the paint with the former posting 19 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks while the latter added 16 and 10 laced with a steal and a swat.
Schonny Winston provided a steady presence on the backcourt with 16 points, five assists and three rebounds while Rey Suerte had 11 against his former team and Bryan Santos firing with 10.
More than the balanced attack on the offensive end, it was the FiberXers defense that made the huge difference after they clamped down on Bossing's best players in Sedrick Barefield and Christian David.
Barefield, after announcing his return with 24 points in the team’s opening loss to Magnolia, was limited to just five points on a miserable 1-of-10 clip from the field.
David, who had a breakout game of 31 points last timeout, was not any better after being held scoreless and missing all of his seven attempts from the floor.
The contest was priming up to be a competitive one in the opening frame, though, with the Bossing even taking a 24-21 advantage at the end of the first 12 minutes.
The FiberXers, however, got their bearings going and unloaded a 28-14 second quarter to take a 49-38 lead at the break before the floodgates further opened in the third when they unleashed an even more explosive 32-15 count.
Blackwater remained winless through two games.
