Two Grade 8 students knifed dead by 3 schoolmates in Las Piñas

Two Grade 8 students died after being stabbed by three fellow students outside their school in Las Piñas City on Friday, April 11. 

Col. Sandro Tafalla, Las Piñas City Police chief,  identified the victims as alias “Rye Enzo,” 15, and alias “Joshua,” 15, both Grade 8 students at Aguilar High School.

Tafalla said the victims were walking on their way home outside the school when they were attacked at 7:00 p.m. on Balikatan St. in Barangay CAA, Las Piñas City.

He said Enzo suffered a lone stab wound in the left side of the neck and died while undergoing treatment at the Las Piñas Doctors Hospital, while Joshua was pronounced dead on arrival at the Las Piñas General Hospital.

Police said that prior to the incident, one of the victims and a 15-year-old Grade 9 student engaged in an argument inside the school comfort room.

A witness told police that one of the victims reportedly played with the lights in the comfort room by turning them off and on, which offended the Grade 9 student. A heated argument ensued.

The police said the victims were on their way home when attacked by the Grade 9 student and two others -- a Grade 7 student and a Grade 10 student.

Tafalla said the suspects were surrendered by their families to the police. They will be turned over to Bahay Pag-asa in Las Piñas City.

He added that the arrested suspects will be charged with homicide or murder depending on the outcome of the investigation.
