The turnover ceremony, held at the Caloocan City North Fire Substation, was led by City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (CDRRMD) Action Officer Alex Nadurata and received by Fire Supt. Eugene Briones, City fire marshal
The newly acquired fire truck, equipped with a 650-gallon water tank and a specialized chemical foam agent, is designed to combat large-scale industrial fires, especially in high-risk facilities such as factories, warehouses, and establishments handling hazardous materials.
Officials said the chemical fire truck is expected to significantly enhance the city’s firefighting capability, ensuring quicker response time and more effective suppression of complex fires.
The event was also attended by FCINSP Angelie Salva, deputy city fire marshal; FSINSP Elyzer Ruben Leal, chief of the Operations Section; FSINSP Daisy Uy, commander of the Caloocan City North Fire Substation and chief of the Investigation and Intelligence Unit; and FINSP Edgardo Gallardo, commander of the CIC Kaybiga Fire Substation.
Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan reaffirmed the city’s commitment to public safety, noting that investments in modern firefighting equipment are essential in protecting lives and property.
“Kaya sa oras ng pangangailangan, tinitiyak natin sa mga Batang Kankaloo na palaging handa ang Lungsod ng Caloocan (That’s why in times of need, we assure every Batang Kankaloo that the City of Caloocan is always ready),” he said.
The BFP-Caloocan expressed its gratitude to the city government for its consistent support, vowing to maximize the use of the new fire truck to better serve and protect the community.
The donation is part of Caloocan’s broader modernization program, which includes upgrading firefighting resources and strengthening the city's readiness in responding to emergencies, particularly in vulnerable and industrial zones.
