Government anti-narcotics agents seized on Friday, April 11, various laboratory equipment and chemicals used for the manufacture of shabu following the arrest of three foreigners and their two alleged Filipino cohorts during an operation in Las Piñas City.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the operation was conducted at around 5 p.m. during the search warrant implementation at 16 Pilar Pilapil Street, BF Resort Village in Talon Dos in this city.
During the search, the government anti-narcotics agents discovered multiple chemical substances stored in blue drums, plastic gallons and amber bottles; numerous manufacturing apparatus believed to be used in shabu production.
The PDEA noted that the presence of controlled precursors and essential chemicals (CPECs) and laboratory equipment indicated a possible setup for the illicit manufacture of dangerous drugs.Â
To ensure the legitimacy of the operation, the search and confiscation of the said items were conducted in the presence of mandatory witnesses in compliance with legal protocols.Â
“All confiscated drug-related items will be submitted to the PDEA Laboratory Service for chemical analysis and proper documentation,’’ the PDEA said.
The operation was led by the PDEA Intelligence Service with support coming from other law enforcement agencies.
