Two men were arrested allegedly after punching and hitting a man with a hammer on Libiran St., McArthur Highway in Malanday, Valenzuela City on Thursday, April 10.
Valenzuela City Police Station (VCPS) chief Col. Nixon Cayaban identified the suspects as “Castro,” 35, a resident of Hagonoy, Bulacan, and “Boduso,” 27, a resident of Muzon, San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.
According to the police report, the victim identified as “Romy,” 56, of Malanday, confronted the suspects after seeing them burning garbage near his store. He reportedly asked them to stop, fearing it could cause a fire.
As Romy turned his back, Boduso allegedly punched him from behind, while Castro struck him on the head with a hammer.
A concerned citizen who witnessed the assault immediately alerted the officers from Police Substation 6, leading to the arrest of the suspects.
The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital for immediate medical treatment.
The suspects are now in police custody and will face charges of attempted murder.
