Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval promised to deliver better services, provide more job opportunities, and work for a safer and healthier community as she unveiled her nine-point agenda on Friday, April 11, aimed at uplifting the lives of Malabueños.

According to the city’s Public Information Office, the agenda reflects Sandoval’s commitment to deliver efficient public services, strengthen healthcare, promote inclusive growth, generate employment, and foster good governance—all aimed at building a more livable and secure city.

"Layunin po natin na mas mapalakas pa ang iba't ibang sektor sa lungsod. Sa paglatag natin ng mga planong ito, ay patuloy nating mapagtutuunan ang pansin ang mga pangangailangan ng mamamayan (Our goal is to further strengthen the various sectors in the city. As we lay out these plans, we will continue to focus on addressing the needs of our citizens),” she said.

“Masisiguro rin natin na ang pag-unlad ng lungsod ay hindi lang para sa kasalukuyan, maging sa ating hinaharap (We will also ensure that the city's progress benefits not only the present but also our future),” Sandoval added.

Among the key projects under the agenda are the establishment of new industrial zones in Potrero, Acacia, and Tinajeros which are expected to attract investors, stimulate the local economy, and create jobs for Malabueños.

The city also plans to develop a Central Business District in Barangay Longos, envisioned as a hub for commerce, retail, and corporate offices.

This development is seen as a major step toward transforming Malabon into a financial and business center in the northern part of Metro Manila.

"Ang hakbang na ito ay makakatulong upang maging  financial and business center  ang ating lungsod sa  hilagang bahagi ng Metro Manila. At kung patuloy na mapapalakas ang mga negosyo, mas maraming trabaho ang maibibigay natin sa mga Malabueño tungo sa mas maganda buhay para sa lahat (This initiative will help transform our city into a financial and business center in the northern part of Metro Manila. And as businesses continue to grow stronger, we will be able to provide more job opportunities for Malabueños—paving the way for a better life for everyone),” Sandoval said.

To further empower local entrepreneurs, the city will launch food tourism hubs and agribusiness centers that showcase Malabon’s culinary heritage and urban farming practices.

In Barangay Dampalit, a Port Economic Zone is being planned to serve as a global hub for shipping, logistics, and export-import activities.

The project aims to strengthen trade relations both domestically and internationally, while providing jobs and income for residents.

In response to rapid urban growth, the city is also eyeing reclamation projects that will give rise to modern business parks and tourist destinations.

These developments will be guided by sustainable urban planning principles to protect the environment.

Healthcare is another priority under Sandoval’s agenda. Ospital ng Malabon is set to undergo major improvements to ensure faster, more accessible medical services.

The mayor also emphasized that essential healthcare services will be made free, eliminating the need for residents to line up at the cashier.

"Dito po sa Malabon, ang kalusugan ay hindi isang pribilehyo, kundi karapatan ng bawat Malabueño. Mas palalakasin pa po natin ang pagbibigay ng serbisyo para sa kalusugan at kapakanan ng bawat isa (Here in Malabon, health is not a privilege but a right of every Malabueño. We will further strengthen the delivery of services that ensure the health and well-being of everyone),” the mayor said.

The city government will also focus on programs that support family breadwinners, including free skills training, livelihood assistance, and financial support to help them build long-term security.

Sandoval also envisions a smarter, more connected Malabon. Her administration is pushing for the digitalization of city government services, improved high-speed internet access, and the adoption of tech-driven systems for disaster response and traffic management.

As part of her inclusive approach, Sandoval vowed to continue supporting the city’s fur parents. Free veterinary services, regular pet vaccinations, and spay and neuter programs will be provided. Pet-friendly parks will also be developed as part of efforts to promote animal welfare.

The mayor reiterated her commitment to expanding successful initiatives such as the Malabon Ahon Blue Card—which has already benefited more than 90,000 families—along with housing programs and education support.

“Sa ating patuloy na pagbibigay ng dekalidad na serbisyo, makasisiguro po ang lahat ay kasama — Sama-sama tayo, walang maiiwan (In our continued commitment to providing quality services, everyone can be assured that no one will be left behind — We move forward together, leaving no one behind),” Sandoval said.
