Actress Marjorie Barretto stated that her ex-husband, Dennis Padilla, "ruined" the solemn wedding of their daughter Claudia Barretto to Basti Lorenzo in Alabang on April 8.

Marjorie also denied allegations that she snubbed her mother-in-law when she attended Claudia and Basti's wedding.

In the second part of an interview by showbiz journalist Ogie Diaz, Marjorie shared a photo with her mother-in-law as they laughed a lot at the wedding.

"Hindi mugto ang mata ng mother-in-law ko. She was kissing me, and I was kissing her. I was hugging her, and she was hugging me. So ano yung sinasabi ninyong inapi yung nanay ninyo? May picture ako eh. (My mother-in-law's eyes weren't puffy. She was kissing me, and I was kissing her. I was hugging her, and she was hugging me. So what are you saying about your mother being oppressed? I have a picture)," she said. "Did she look like she was crying? Did she look like she was mad?"

She added: "Dennis, you are stealing the joy of my daughter. Imbes na si mama ma enjoy niyang makita na kinakasal ang anak mo, gusto mo pang gamitin sa drama. (Instead of enjoying seeing your daughter get married, you want to use her in drama). This is too much."

Marjorie criticized Dennis for sharing posts about his daughter's wedding before the couple had a chance to do so themselves.

"Nothing about this wedding was about you. Bawa't sulyap ng anak ko about you. Nothing about this wedding was about you or me. This is about them," she pointed out.

Marjorie said that during the wedding reception, Dennis kept calling her children Julia and Leone. But they did not answer. "Hindi ko lang masabi yung words pero everytime na tumatawag ka, minumura mo sila. Hindi ganun ang household namin. Hindi ko pinalaki ang mga anak ko na ganun. (I just can't say the words but every time you call, you curse at them. Our household is not like that. I didn't raise my children like that)." She added that Dennis kept calling Claudia until the next day at 6 a.m.

"You are the father and you should be the No. 1 protector of your children. Ang hirap magpalaki na mag-isa lang ako. (It's hard to raise a child on my own). Never mind the financial aspect," Marjorie told Dennis.

"Julia worked early on. Whenever she can help me, she will. Sa tuition nawawala yan eh. Sana itinira mo man lang si Leon. Si Leon kasi lalaki 'yan and you have to set a good example. (He's missing if it's time to pay the tuition. You should have considered Leon. Because Leon is a man and you have to set a good example). He needs a father figure.

"Mula ng naghiwalay kami naka dalawa o tatlong asawa na siya eh. Sana kung may P10,000 ka, yung P1,000 ibinigay mo man lang sa kanila. (Since we separated, he's had two or three wives. If you had P10,000, you would have at least given them P1,000). Only to show that you care," she added.

"Ako lang ang pwedeng magsabi na hindi sila mabuting anak. Dennis, let me remind you, ang role ng isang ama ay magpalaki, magprovide at mag protect lalo na sa mga anak na babae. (I'm the only one who can say that they are not good children. Dennis, let me remind you, the role of a father is to raise, provide, and protect, especially daughters). I hope this brings clarity to people who have so many opinions," Marjorie said.

Marjorie stated that the damage was done and Dennis could not bring back their daughter's wedding.

"Itong ginawa mo Dennis sobrang betrayal. Pag-expose mo ng wedding. Ang pangit ng ginawa mo. Hindi mo na maibabalik. Ilang Father's Day na na-ruined mo. Birthdays ng mga bata. Lahat ng okasyon which you ruined for the children. Next year may Father's Day uli eh. Next year may birthday pa. Pero wedding wala na eh. No more. It's once in a lifetime. (What you did, Dennis, is a huge betrayal. You exposed the wedding. What you did was ugly. You can't take it back. How many Father's Days have you ruined? Children's birthdays. All the occasions you ruined for the children. Next year there will be Father's Day again. Next year there will be a birthday. But there will be no wedding. No more. It's once in a lifetime)," she added.

Marjorie promised her children that "I will be their safe space until I die."

Dennis and Marjorie married in 1995 but separated. Their marriage was annulled in 2009. For years, Dennis has had an on-and-off relationship with children Julia, Claudia and Leon.
