The Commission on Elections (Comelec) asked Palawan congressional candidate Abraham Kahlil Blanco Mitra to explain why he shouldn't be penalized after he allegeldly held a free movie viewing.

Comelec's Committee on Kontra Bigay issued the show cause order against Mitra as it cited his Facebook posts on Baham Mitra official.
The posts indicated that from April 2 to April 4 the poll bet offered limited free tickets to the public for the movie titled "Sinagtala" at SM Puerto Princesa.
According to the Facebook post, tickets were free, care of "Baham Mitra". Interested individual were asked to text a number to secure their reservation.
The committee said that the posts constitute a possible violation of the Omnibus Election Code as implemented by Section 26 (b) of Comelec Resolution 11104. Under it, offering or promising something of value in consideration for someone's vote can be presumed as vote-buying or vote-selling.
The committee said that Mitra also posted photos on the same Facebook Page showing that he was present during the block screening of the a movie at SM Puerto Princesa along with his supporters.
"In light of the foregoing, you are hereby ordered to SHOW CAUSE in writing within a non-extendible period of three (3) days from receipt hereof and to explain why a complaint for election offense and/or a petition for disqualification should not be filed against you," the committee said.
"You are hereby warned that failure on your part to comply with the show cause order shall be considered as waiver of your right to be heard and the filing of appropriate cases/s against you," it added.
