Holding much momentum courtesy of a two-game winning streak, the Lady Tamaraws are determined to boost their Final Four bid against fellow hopefuls, the Shai Nitura-led Adamson Lady Falcons who are currently on the brink of elimination.
Game is at 3 p.m. which will conclude the exciting quadruple-header action that also pits the Golden Tigresses and the University of the East Lady Warriors at 1 p.m.
FEU head coach Tina Salak is excited with the opportunities that lie ahead but cautions her players to take it one game at a time.
“Pwede ko nang ilapit ng konti ilalapit ko muna [sa playoffs], pero for me as a once member of the FEU volleyball program, and ako ‘yong may tsansa na ibigay ‘yong 30th [title],” said Salak.
“Isang milestone ‘yon sa career ko at hindi rin pe-pwede kalimutan ‘yong FEU sa tiwala na binigay sakin to handle this team,” she added.
Chances are high so far for the Lady Tamaraws, who hold an 8-4 card to sit at third spot, to enter the playoff picture and take the twice-to-beat bonus if De La Salle University (8-3) stumbles in its next few games.
In their 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 25-13 win over Ateneo, Faida Bakanke was at the forefront of the attack alongside Gerz Petallo and Chen Tagaod.
Easier said than done, Adamson has no plans of raising the white flag with super rookie Nitura leading the way. The JP Yude-mentored squad is fueled by a four-set stunner over reigning champion National University to improve 4-7.
