Cop killed in motorcycle-truck collision

BACOLOD CITY – A 32-year-old policeman was killed in a motorcycle-truck collision in Taytay Candaguit, Barangay Baliwagan, San Enrique, Negros Occidental on Thursday, April 10.

The victim was identified as Police Patrolman Kenneth Casuya, a resident of Barangay Miranda, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.

Police Lt. Dante Eslit, deputy chief of San Enrique Municipal Police Station, said the victim was allegedly speeding on his way home when he overshot the curve lane and crashed into a truck headed to E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.

Eslit said the victim was assigned to the Bacolod City Police Office-Police Station 9.

The victim was wearing a helmet but sustained head injuries and was declared dead in a hospital.

Eslit said the 44-year-old truck driver is under police custody pending the decision of the victim’s family if they will file charges.
