Castro said this after the Filipino-Chinese business community expressed alarm over what they called a spate of kidnapping incidents.

In a press briefing on Thursday, April 10, the Palace Press Officer said the government will not neglect the situation.

"Patuloy po ang pag-iimbestiga po dito. Hindi po ito tutulugan ng gobyerno (The investigation into this matter continues. The government will not rest on this)," she said.

"Ang lahat po na nagaganap dito ay pinagbilin po ng Pangulo na dapat imbestigahang mabuti para po ma-lessen o ma-eradicate ang mga ganitong klaseng krimen dito sa Pilipinas (Everything happening here has been instructed by the President to be thoroughly investigated so that crimes of this nature in the Philippines can be reduced or eradicated)," she added.

Que and his driver were found dead in Sitio Udiongan, Barangay Macabud, Rodriguez, Rizal on Wednesday, April 9.

Que, owner of Elison Steel in Valenzuela, and his driver were reportedly kidnapped in Bulacan on March 29 after their families received a message from the kidnappers demanding millions of dollars in ransom.

The vehicle they were last seen in was found abandoned in Quezon City on April 8.

According to Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson BGen. Jean Fajardo, signs of bruises, body injuries, and signs of strangulation were found in the victims' bodies.
