DPWH to deploy 'Lakbay Alalay' teams for safe Holy Week travel

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will be deploying its personnel starting April 16 as part of the its "Lakbay Alalay" program aimed at providing roadside assistance and ensure a safer, more convenient travel experience for motorists during the Holy Week exodus.

DPWH personnel will be stationed along major highways, offering tire changes, fuel delivery, and minor vehicle repairs, with round-the-clock roadside assistance stations marked by blue tents at key locations.

DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan reaffirmed the department’s commitment to ensuring smoother travel during the peak period, addressing the challenges often faced by motorists heading to their provinces.

“We are dedicated to providing immediate support, minimizing delays, and enhancing the travel experience for all motorists during this busy season,” said Bonoan.

In addition to the Lakbay Alalay program, the DPWH is undertaking essential road maintenance, including repairing damaged roads, replacing worn-out road signs, and repainting road markings to improve road safety and reduce hazards.

Motorists are urged to check DPWH’s official social media platforms for the locations of Lakbay Alalay stations and plan their trips in advance to avoid delays during the Holy Week exodus.
