The woman, a Lapu-Lapu City resident and human resources manager, was supposed to board a flight bound for Tacloban City, Leyte.
The woman was held when personnel of the Office for Transportation Security noticed some suspicious items in her bag in the routine X-ray inspection at around 1 p.m.
A manual inspection led to the discovery of the four bullets. The woman failed to present documents authorizing her to possess the ammunition.
She underwent inquest proceedings for violating Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition and the Commission on Elections gun ban.
Police Major Ricky Calong, chief of the MCIA police, reminded passengers to thoroughly inspect their luggage, especially those handed over by acquaintances in the airport.
Calong added that bringing of bullets, which some consider as lucky charms, into the airport is prohibited.
