VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Philippine automotive service provider MGA.414 Corporation, which operates under the JIGA brand. The agreement sets the stage for a significant expansion of VinFast's aftersales service network in the Philippines, targeting more than 100 service workshops by the end of 2025.

The collaboration outlines plans for JIGA to serve as a key service partner for VinFast EVs in the country. Existing JIGA service centers will be designated either as official VinFast service hubs or as authorized facilities for vehicle repair, warranty servicing, and general maintenance. These facilities will be upgraded to meet VinFast's standards for infrastructure, equipment, and personnel qualifications.

According to both companies, this initiative aims to address the growing demand for EVs in the local market while ensuring customers have convenient access to reliable aftersales support and genuine spare parts.

VinFast has committed to supporting JIGA through training programs, technical consultations, and knowledge-sharing to speed up the rollout of compliant service locations. This is in line with the Vietnamese automaker's broader strategy to promote the transition to electric mobility and build a customer-centric ecosystem in its international markets.

JIGA currently operates 16 service centers across key urban areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Cebu. These include major locations in Metro Manila such as Makati, Taguig, and Paranaque, as well as provincial cities like Iloilo, Bacolod, Roxas, Capiz, and Cebu City. The company specializes in vehicle maintenance and repair services, including tire and wheel sales, wheel alignment, auto diagnostics, transmission servicing, and more.

“The market for electric vehicles is expanding in the Philippines, and this collaboration with VinFast, a pioneering brand in the electric vehicle industry, is a step toward enhancing JIGA's service capabilities while also enabling us to support the sustainable development trend and offer Filipino consumer the best of the best services. Excited guid kami, tanan nga taga-JIGA, to work with VinFast,” said JIGA President, Michael Abanero.

Pham Sanh Chau, CEO of VinFast Asia, also expressed confidence in the partnership: “Our collaboration with JIGA is a strategic step toward fulfilling VinFast’s commitment to providing an optimal EV ownership experience for customers in the Philippines. We are confident that the combination of VinFast’s green vision and JIGA’s professional service network will mark a significant milestone in promoting sustainable transportation in this market.”

VinFast entered the Philippine market in 2024 and has since launched a line of electric vehicles alongside customer-focused sales programs and growing service infrastructure. The company is also pursuing partnerships to expand EV charging networks as part of its broader Southeast Asian strategy, which emphasizes sustainable mobility through collaborative efforts.

The rollout of this service network is modeled after similar efforts in Vietnam, where VinFast has developed an integrated EV ecosystem. The brand hopes to replicate this success in emerging markets like the Philippines.

Both VinFast and JIGA have stated that the partnership is not only a commercial venture but also part of a long-term push to support green initiatives and raise EV adoption in the country.
