Lacson led the deactivation of the Task Group Panaad Festival 2025 at the Panaad Park here on Monday, March 31, together with Police Col. Rainerio de Chavez, Negros Occidental police director; Panaad Festival 2025 executive director Charina Magallanes-Tan, and Irene Bel Ploteña, head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Division (PDDRMD).
No major incidents were reported during the week-long celebration but the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office identified several areas for improvement for future festivals, including enhanced closed circuit television (CCTV) surveillance and better prop management.
Police reported 215 minor medical emergencies, such as heat exhaustion and minor injuries, but were addressed promptly by on-site medical teams.
Lacson said that safety and security ensured by the presence of law enforcement personnel allowed festival-goers to enjoy the celebrations without fear.
“The PNP has once again shown professionalism, discipline, and efficiency in managing large crowds, securing public spaces, and swiftly addressing any issues,” Lacson said.
A total of 1,063 security and emergency personnel were deployed, supported by 17 patrol units, 20 motorcycles, four fire trucks, and 10 ambulances.
De Chavez thanked all law enforcement agencies for their professionalism and commitment that allowed approximately 73,462 people to fully enjoy the event from March 24 to 30.
