Aspiring congressman Sheen Gonzales received a major boost to his candidacy after the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) officially endorsed him as the ruling party's bet for Eastern Samar’s lone congressional seat in the May 2025 polls.
The endorsement took place during the PFP's recent proclamation rally in Dolores, Eastern Samar, where party leaders and supporters gathered in a show of unity and support.
PFP is chaired by no less than President Marcos.
Gonzales previously served as Eastern Samar vice governor and mayor of Guiuan town.town. He is also the son-in-law of House Minority Leader and 4Ps party-list Rep. Marcelino “Nonoy” Libanan.
Gonzales underscored the importance of political unity in driving progress for Eastern Samar.
“Political unity is the key to unlocking economic development and improving the quality of life for our people,” Gonzales stated. He emphasized the need for leaders who prioritize public service over political interests.
“Our communities deserve leaders who put people over politics. When we unite around common goals—like economic opportunity, better schools, and accessible healthcare—we create a future that benefits everyone, not just a select few,” he added.
The House of Representatives hopeful also called for collaborative leadership in addressing the province’s challenges.
“By bringing together diverse perspectives and working hand in hand, we can craft policies that promote job creation, infrastructure development, and a thriving local economy,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ralph Vincent “RV” Evardone has been endorsed by PFP as its gubernatorial bet in the upcoming May 12 mid-term elections. He is the son of outgoing Eastern Samar Governor Ben Evardone, who also serves as PFP’s regional chairperson.
Gonzales and Evardone are running under the local ticket dubbed "Solido para Progreso".
