Cordillera cops net P76.8-M illegal drugs in March


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera seized shabu and marijuana valued at P76.8 million and arrested 29 suspected drug pushers from March 1 to 31.

Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., Cordillera police chief, said 102 operations were conducted – 75 marijuana eradication, nine buy-bust, eight search warrant, six warrants of arrest, and four police responses – where 110.29 grams of suspected shabu, 337,610 fully grown marijuana plants, 1,850 marijuana seedlings, and 71,016.13 grams of dried marijuana leaves were recovered.

Eleven suspects were high-value individuals and 18 were street-level individuals.

The Benguet Police Provincial Office recovered illegal drugs valued at P42.1 million, followed by the Kalinga PPO, P33.1 million; Mountain Province PPO, P1 million, Baguio City Police Office, P239,575.60, and Abra PPO, P113,288.

"This month's intensive campaign demonstrates a strong determination to dismantle drug networks and protect our communities. The dedication of our police officers and relentless pursuit of justice have yielded significant results, disrupting the flow of illegal substances and holding those responsible accountable," Peredo said.
