A partylist group on Tuesday reminded the people to be wary of job scams and apply only for work thru legitimate job fairs.
Trabaho spokesperson Mitchell Espiritu said they consolidate local job fairs on a weekly basis and posts job fair alerts through its official Facebook page 106 Trabaho party-list.
He said the job fair alert is usually posted on a Monday and has details such as the date, time, and location of the job fair.
“With Trabaho’s weekly job fair alert, we get to provide information about legitimate job fairs, saving our vulnerable job seekers from getting scammed,” said Espiritu as he noted the importance of educating the public on how to spot fraudulent job advertisements and recruitment schemes.
Espiritu said the weekly job fair alert is just a sneak peek for a centralized job vacancy database.
Trabaho said this a long-term solution that they are aiming to legislate to improve employment rate and ease the process of seeking job opportunities.
“The centralized job vacancy database will serve as a platform where Filipinos can look for job opportunities at the touch of the fingertip, without having to travel far or to spend for airfares and lodging, especially for those residing in the provinces,” he added.
Espiritu said in one of these job scams, unsuspecting victims are tricked into believing they were hired to do high-paying yet easy work-from-home tasks which require them to top up or deposit money to cover initial expenses.
Trabaho noted that there is an increasing number of jobseekers falling prey to similarly patterned scams because they do not have access to reliable and consolidated information source for job opportunities.
