BACOLOD CITY – Police said a woman’s 53-year-old live-in partner died on Saturday, March 8, a day after they were found with bullets inside their pickup truck in Bangga Tomaro, Barangay Sum-ag here on Friday night, March 7.

Police Capt. Andy Ofalia, head of Police Station 9, said that Federico Gayagas Jr., former captain of Barangay Bacong, Bago City, Negros Occidental, passed away in a hospital at 3:30 p.m. from a bullet wound in the head.
Gayagas’s live-in partner, Carmelita Davilla, 43, a resident of this city, died on the spot from a bullet wound in the body.
Ofalia said that they are awaiting the results of the ballistic and paraffin tests that will help them in the investigation.
Police recovered pieces of evidence from the crime scene – four fired cartridge cases, a 9mm firearm with an empty inserted magazine, five other fired cartridge cases, two deformed fired bullets, a metal fragment, a Colt M16 rifle with an inserted magazine with 25 bullets, an M203 grenade launcher loaded with a grenade, a plastic containing 13 40mm grenade, an olive green 40mm grenade pouch containing six 40mm grenade, a bag containing two long metal M16 metal magazines with 54 bullets, four short metal M16 magazine containing 73 bullets, three short plastic magazines with 54 bullets, three magazines with bullets, and 10 firearm registration cards in the name of Gayagas.
Ofalia said that only Gayagas’ 9mm firearm has a license.
Police will conduct a background check on Gayagas due to the firearms and ammunition recovered from him.
Davilla’s family said the couple figured in an argument prior to their deaths.
