A car overturned along Roxas Boulevard early Monday morning, March 10, and caused heavy traffic in the major Manila thoroughfare.

The incident occurred around 7 a.m. and involved a Honda Jazz and a Toyota Vios colliding at the northbound lane near Palacio De Manila, Malate.

According to the initial investigation by the Manila Police District (MPD), the vehicles were traveling northward along Roxas Boulevard when the right rear portion of the motorcycle being driven by Mark Jess Galicia struck the left front side of the sedan driven by Joel Lara.

The impact caused the car to lose control and veer left, eventually overturning onto its side.

Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene and assisted the driver of the overturned vehicle who was treated for minor injuries.

They said no serious injuries were reported.

The overturned car caused a temporary blockade on the northbound lanes of Roxas Boulevard.

The Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) worked to clear the wreckage and ensure the safety of other motorists in the area.

The vehicle was eventually towed off the road and traffic began to ease after the road was cleared.

The MPD is currently investigating the accident. Charges of reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property will be filed.
