2 Bulacan cops killed in Bulacan drug ops

Two policemen were shot dead by drug suspects during an anti-drug operation at Sitio Tugatog, NIA Road, Barangay Tambubong, Bocaue, Bulacan, on Saturday, March 8.

Bulacan Police Provincial Office (PPO) Chief Col. Satur Ediong said the incident occurred around 12 p.m.

He identified the slain officers as SSgt. Dennis Gomez Cudiamat and SSgt. Nicolas Dela Cruz, both assigned to the Bocaue Municipal Police Station.

According to a police report, the victims were conducting a buy-bust operation when the suspects suddenly drew their firearms and opened fire.

Dela Cruz sustained gunshot wounds to the body, while Cudiamat was shot in the head, causing his immediate death.

Dela Cruz was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Authorities said the suspects took the officers' service firearms before fleeing toward Pandi, Bulacan.

A manhunt operation has been launched to track down the suspects, police said.
