Mayor Vico opens lying-in clinics on weekends, holidays to vaccinate city's children

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto announced on Friday, March 7, that select public lying-in clinics in the city will offer free vaccinations for children every weekend and holiday to ensure that they get to receive their preventive shots against diseases.

Sotto explained that the initiative aims to assist parents who find it difficult to visit health centers during weekdays. This will allow them to get their children vaccinated without missing work or being late.

It also aims to vaccinate children from birth until they reach 23 months or before they turn two years old.

“Para sa mga magulang ng mga baby na bagong panganak hanggang bago mag-dalawang taong gulang, kung gusto niyo pong mapabakunahan ang inyong mga baby, pero medyo nahihirapan po kayo pumunta sa mga health centers natin, ‘pag araw ng trabaho, o weekdays, ay maaari na po kayo sa iilang centers tuwing weekend at holiday (For those parents who have newborn babies, or infants who are not older than 2 years old, if you want your babies to be vaccinated, but you are having a hard time visiting our health centers during weekdays, you can now bring them every weekend and holiday),” Sotto said.

The mayor said that San Joaquin Clinic, Nagpayong Clinic, Manggahan Clinic, and Champ Maternity Clinic are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for parents to bring their babies for vaccination.

“Maaari pong pumunta sa mga nabanggit na health center o clinic, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sabado, Linggo, pati holiday. Dalhin lamang po ang mga vaccination records, vaccination card o baby book ng inyong baby (You can now visit the mentioned health centers or clinic from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday, Sunday, and holidays. Just bring their vaccination records or baby book),” he added.

The local government encouraged the parents to avail of the vaccination, “Halina't pabakunahan ang inyong mga anak para sa proteksiyon nila, ng ating pamilya at ng ating lungsod. Laging tandaan, ang Pasigueñong Bakunado, Sigurado Protektado! (Let’s get your children vaccinated for their protection, for the safety of our families, and for our city.
