Man shot dead after failed drug deal in Navotas; 2 suspects arrested

A man was shot dead by two drug suspects allegedly after a failed deal in Barangay Tangos, Navotas City on Tuesday, March 4.

The Navotas City Police Station (NCPS) said the suspects -- Mark Bryan Pascual, 24, and Antonio Bernal, 25, both residents of Barangay Tangos South -- were arrested after they shot dead Henison "Tisoy” Tanghal, a resident of E. Rodriguez Street, Barangay Tanza 1.

According to a police report, NCPS operatives received information about a shooting incident that occurred around 11:35 a.m. in Barangay Tangos North.

In response, NCPS chief Col. Mario Cortes ordered a follow-up operation to track down and arrest the suspects.

Police reviewed a closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showing the victim approach the suspects who then threw a packet at him before they parted ways.

Moments later, one of the suspects returned, pulled out a gun, and shot the victim multiple times in the abdomen and back.

The suspects fled toward M. Domingo St. in Barangay Tangos North, while the victim was rushed to Tondo Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.

Authorities arrested the suspects with the help of a witness who identified them based on their clothing.

Confiscated from the suspect were .38-caliber revolver with two spent shells and three live ammunition, and an electric bicycle (e-bike).

The suspects will face murder charges, police said.
